About Leisa
I first started Iyengar yoga in Darwin in 2001 with Carole Baillargeon and loved it from the start. I was amazed how little I could feel my body and really enjoyed learning to get to know it better. Over the next few years yoga became part of my daily life as I began a personal practice and attended workshops and retreats. I started my teacher training in 2004 with Carole and loved the process of learning and teaching and received my certification in 2009.
I feel very privileged to been able to go to India in 2009 to the Ramamani Iyengar Yoga Institute and attend classes with Geeta and Prashant Iyengar and I have attended workshops with senior teachers in Australia. United states and Indonesia.
After teaching in Darwin for 10 years I moved to Buddina on the Sunshine Coast where I continue my journey as both a student and a teacher. I am passionate about making yoga available to all regardless of age or ability. I have special interest in yoga for children, teens and seniors and continue to develop my knowledge in women's health and yoga therapy.
As an avid student of yoga philosophy, I am practicing how to to bring yoga off the mat and into my daily life.
